Location

Mission Bay Conference Center
1675 Owens Street
San Francisco, California

Time: 12:15 p.m. lecture

Dr. Goodall will serve as the keynote speaker at the Wildlife Conservation Network Symposium in San Francisco this year. Drawing upon nearly fifty years of first-hand experience with the chimpanzees of Gombe, Tanzania, Dr. Goodall will provide insight into the importance of modern day conservation and explain how the Jane Goodall Institute is employing innovative techniques to save chimpanzees and work with local communities in Africa. She will also explain how her Roots & Shoots international youth service program is bringing people of all ages into conservation work and proving that every individual has the power to make a difference everyday.

Finally, Dr. Goodall will share success stories from her newest book, Hope for Animals and Their World: How Endangered Species are Being Rescued from the Brink, which will be published in September 2009.

A book signing will follow the presentation. Dr. Goodall’s books and Jane Goodall Institute merchandise will be sold on site, with proceeds benefiting the Jane Goodall Institute. Tickets go on sale in mid-August and are available through the Wildlife Conservation Network.
