Growing the next generation of conservation leaders
Started in 2002, the Roots & Shoots U.S. National Youth Leadership Council (NYLC), a youth leadership training program of Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots, brings together passionate young leaders from around the United States to expand their leadership abilities. Members of the NYLC are the youth voice of the Jane Goodall Institute-USA and work hard to support JGI’s programs, including engaging with and mentoring Roots & Shoots members nationally while also leading service projects in their own communities.
As they work to further Dr. Goodall’s mission, NYLC members also receive in-depth comprehensive skills training and professional development. NYLC members gain access to resources and opportunities that allow them to emerge at the forefront of the next generation of compassionate leaders working to protect and improve habitats for people, other animals, and the environment.
