#JanesGreenHope Campaign
In honor of Dr. Goodall’s 88th birthday and Earth Month, you can be a force of nature by joining JGI in our efforts to grow green!
In the fight against biodiversity loss and the Climate Crisis, restoration, regeneration, and protection of global forests are some of our greatest hopes. Join the #JanesGreenHope campaign to plant the seed of Jane’s dream for a greener world and help it bloom for generations to come.
MAKE YOUR PLEDGE
As part of the #JanesGreenHope join Jane and thousands of people from around the world in taking action to create a greener future for all. Jane and JGI’s efforts to protect and restore forests are part of the Trillion Trees initiative and emphasize the potential of forests to improve wellbeing and livelihoods for local and indigenous communities, combat climate change, and protect global biodiversity. Every individual can make a difference.
Pledge to plant, protect, and/or restore native trees and forests, and/or engage in greening your community!
Here are some interesting stats about why your action is so important:
- AROUND 1.6 BILLION PEOPLE depend on forests for their livelihood, including 70 million indigenous people.
- Forests are home to MORE THAN 80% of all terrestrial species of animals, plants and insects.
- Between 2010 and 2015, THE WORLD LOST 3.3 MILLION hectares of forest areas. Poor rural women are especially affected by their depletion.
